The demoscene is the a worldwide cooperation of many programmers, musicians, artists, and many other people known collectively as sceners. Many have an appreciation for old and new computers alike, sharing new techniques, showing off the "impossible", and hanging out at events called demoparties hosted all over the world. Some specifically work together as a group (demogroup) to produce a production, known as a demo, to show off their skills and entertain. These and other works are submitted and compete in various competitions at the aforementioned demoparties.
